We have installed a hearing loop system that will amplify the sound for those with most types of hearing aids. If you have a hearing aid and can set it to "T" or Telecoil, you should be able to hear the sound from the sound system a bit better. If you do not have a hearing aid, we also have 2 portable receivers (about the size of an iPod) that can be used during the service. Please see the sound technician at the rear of the sanctuary if you would like to borrow one. (You may want to bring your own earbuds to plug into it).

Why study the Psalms? As American Christians we may have difficulty discerning where God is leading us because we at times struggle to spend enough time in prayer. Often, this is because we feel like we may not know how to pray. Studying the Psalms, at the very least, gives us instruction and language for praying. Eugene Peterson puts it colorfully: “If we are willfully ignorant of the Psalms, we are not thereby excluded from praying, but we will have to hack our way through formidable country by trial and error with inferior tools.” Dietrich Bonhoeffer puts it another way, emphasizing the Psalms’ importance not only for personal devotions but for the church as a whole: “Whenever the Psalter is abandoned, an incomparable treasure vanishes from the Christian church.  With its recovery will come unsuspected power.”
